There are many opportunities for the students to come into Firwood to get to know the environment and to start building relationships with key staff. Students will take part in lots of different learning experiences during transition mornings and transition days. Parents will be given the opportunity for school tours, to meet key people at Firwood and be provided all the necessary information. As part of the transition process Firwood staff spend time at the students primary school. Students are also invited to Firwood for transition morning. Students will also be able to attend Firwood during the transition week in which they will be able to spend more time at Firwood, exploring the environment, meeting other peers and spending time with Firwood staff. This all supports with a smoother transition.
As part of our transition offer all new students will experience something very exciting…..our very own festival ‘FirFest’ This is a whole school event where we recreate a musical festival. We have a variety of singers, bands, a bubble man, dance troops, ice cream van, splat the staff and much more. This is the perfect opportunity to introduce our new cohort of students to the rest of school and welcome them into the Firwood family.
