Founded and headed by Bolton Autism Mum Linzi Tropea Autism Support UK is a Bolton provider of child centered bespoke parent & child training for children on the autism pathway or diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Condition. Lever Park Academy

 

We support young people with an EHCP (previously a statement of special educational need for their social, emotional and behavioral difficulties, SEBD). We work primarily with the pupils of Lever Park Special School, their families and carers where we provide a breakfast club, access to the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, Bowens relaxation therapy, mentoring, and some specialist equipment. We also design and deliver specific projects to address issues of self esteem, health and wellbeing.

IPSEA

Helplines are operated Monday to Friday (times available on the website). Free independent legal advice is available to parents of children with all kinds of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Visit the website for model letters, SEN updates, support sheets and more. Join the mailing list and become part of IPSEA’s family and keep up-to-date with news and information relevant to SEND. The advice line is covered by fully trained volunteers providing legally based advice.

Breaking Barriers

Breaking Barriers aims to support Disabled children and young people (aged 0-25) and adults with Autism (aged 18+) and their families to challenge and remove barriers to inclusion. BBNW have a strong strategic presence in Bolton and act as parent reps on the Disability housing sub group, the Post 16 transition guide task group, BDSA (Bolton Disability Sports Association), ETAG (Equality Target Action Group), Bolton ASC Forum and the Bolton Together Consortium.

Provides family sign language courses and electronic note taking for deaf and disabled people. Family Sign Language: Unlike traditional British Sign Language (BSL) courses, which are based around signs for adults, this course is specifically aimed at families of deaf children.

Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service

The Speech and Language Therapy Service will assess, diagnose and develop an individualised program  of care to maximize the communication potential of the children and young people referred to them and under their care. The work involves direct contact with children and young people with communication difficulties as well as their carers and other key people in their lives. Birtenshaw Hydrotherapy Pool:

Birtenshaw's hydrotherapy suite is part of a new multi million pound development in the Bromley Cross area of Bolton. The hydrotherapy suite boasts a lovely 9x4m pool heated to 32c, offering disabled access, changing and state of the art equipment. Water Babies manage the pool and the timetable, and are now taking bookings from external providers i.e aquanatal, aqua aerobics, 1 to 1 swim coaching and so on. Bolton Bullets Power Chair Football Club:

We are affiliated to both Lancashire County FA and the WFA, whose insurance covers our activities. In September 2012, we were awarded the FA Charter Standard Club status. We offer training sessions for beginners and those who want to play recreationally. If you are a powered wheelchair user, why not come and watch us training to see if you fancy giving it a try. Bury Boccia Club:

Bury Boccia Club provides participants the opportunity to experience playing the game of Boccia in an informal setting. Boccia is an indoor ball game that is played seated and consists of six red balls, six blue balls and one white ball called the Jack. The aim of the game is to propel the six red and blue balls towards the Jack, using skill and strategic planning. The sport is aimed towards ages over 7 and beyond. The sport can be played as a leisure game or a competitive game.
